Privacy Policy
What this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. Written to be read, not to be scrolled past.
1. Who we are
This website, cutle.co, is operated by Cutle ("we", "us"). It is the companion website for the Android application ID Card Maker: Digital ID Card, published on Google Play. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
2. The short version
- You can read every page here without an account and without telling us who you are.
- The only personal data we ask for is what you type into the contact form.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Advertising and analytics technologies may set cookies in your browser; you can refuse or clear them.
3. Information you give us
Contact form
If you use the form on the contact page, we receive your name, your email address, the topic you selected and your message. We use it for one purpose: to read and reply to your message.
We keep a copy of contact submissions in a private log on the server so a message is not lost if email delivery fails. Submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and to keep a reasonable record, and then deleted.
Please do not send us ID documents or other sensitive personal data through the form. We do not want it and we will delete it if we receive it.
Comments on the blog
Our blog runs on WordPress. If you leave a comment you are asked for a name, an email address and optionally a website. The comment and your name are published; your email address is not. Comment data also includes your IP address and browser details, which are used for spam filtering and are visible to the site administrators.
4. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard technical information when a page is requested: the IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring address and the browser's user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site running, to diagnose errors and to defend against abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are rotated on a short schedule.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies used on this site fall into three groups:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not stop you reading any page on this site.
6. Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and others on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Where required by law, advertising cookies are only set after you make a choice in a consent banner. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland and no consent banner is shown to you, the ads served are non-personalised.
7. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — for example, which articles are read most. Analytics is configured to anonymise IP addresses where the product supports it, and advertising features within Analytics are left switched off. No analytics profile is linked to your contact form submission.
8. The Android app
The ID Card Maker Android app is distributed through Google Play. Information collected by Google Play in connection with downloading or installing the app is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Cards you create in the app are stored on your own device; this website does not receive them.
A future release of the app may offer an optional cloud sync to your account on this website. If that happens, this policy will be updated first, and the feature will be optional.
9. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:
- our hosting provider, which stores the site and the logs described above;
- Google, for advertising and (if enabled) analytics, as described above;
- a mail provider, if and when one is used to send contact form messages.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
10. How long we keep things
- Server logs: rotated regularly and kept short.
- Contact submissions: kept only while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable record afterwards, then deleted.
- Blog comments: kept while the article is published, unless you ask us to remove yours.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, or to ask for a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and tell us what you would like us to do. We will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, WordPress is kept up to date, and access to the administration area is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending sensitive documents through the contact form.
14. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will also mention it on the blog.
